Yerba Mate Leaf Cut and Sifted 16oz (1 Pound) Review

I felt this yerba was very fresh and a good quality product. I was a little confused at first because it did not look or taste like the yerba I was used to from Argentina. I emailed Wendy, the owner, and she said it's because yerba in Argentina is cooked..."cocido" it will read on the packages.
That made sense! I have not yet tried to make it "cocido" but I did read online that it just takes a little cooking in a dry skillet to toast it and then cooling to turn it into yerba cocido.
In the meantime, I have tried letting the mate sit a little longer in my Bodum Asam before I drink it and this seems to give it more richness, body and flavor.
I LOVE that it is organic!
