Product Description
The Blue Lake 274 Bean is the classic "oldie-thymey" bean variety. It's been around forever....or at least since some guy named it: "Blue Lake 274". The Blue Lake 274 Bean produces massive yields and is painfully easy to grow! So come on: it's easy to grow, the price is right, so what's not to like?130 Seeds, Bush Bean "Blue Lake 274" (Phaseolus vulgaris) Seeds By Seed Needs Review
So far so good. I planted two seeds a few inches apart in a 20gal smart pot. They have grown to 3" in 4 weeks. Both plants appear very healthy and strong. I will update this review later in the year around harvest. I have a really, really good feeling about these.**Update** (August 2013)
I had pretty much given up on my garden completely after the record amounts of rain we got this summer. While one of the two bean plants in my pot died, the other is still going. I was just so sure it wasn't going to last, like the other one didn't, but out of no where it started producing, and now? I've actually been able to harvest a few beans! I'm shocked. This is one seriously hardy seed! I will be planting much more of these next year. Cannot wait! Now that I know how successful they can be, even in the *worst* conditions, I will not underestimate this seed in the future. Will be buying more, and you should get some too!
