Anyway about Food Grade Diatomaceous Earth. Just google how it's used and how it works and other uses for detail. For me personally, currently a 37 yr old male with thinning hair, flimsy nails and rashy skin that started about 5 years ago, I figured I was just getting old and doomed to going downhill and that my glory days were over. In just the 2 months I've been on this stuff I've been pleasantly surprised and I guess I was silica deficient or something because it's really helping me. Apparently grains and soil don't have as much silica like they used to, so a lot of folk are low.

HEALTHY DIET: I've also noticed that the healthier I eat, the more benefit I experience from having a cleaner digestive tract. If you eat poorly, you'll feel poorly no matter how much DE you take.

HAIR: My hair is growing normal again (started growing in different directions, thinning and looking funky about 5 years ago). It also made my hair softer and lighter in color. Instead of brown I'm a dirty blonde now. I've also noticed tiny 1/2 inch long hairs filling in everywhere I look on my scalp, especially in the front peak and on top. I'm soooooo thrilled to seem like I'm getting my hair back like when I was 25! A lot of guys' testimonials say it's helping grow new hair. So I got my fingers crossed and hope it's for real.

SKIN: My skin is less dry. However there was a weird time around week 3 where it got super dry for a few days and then it's been great since. I was using lotion on my legs, waist, arms, shoulders do to what I thought was just getting old almost every day. Now I haven't used any lotion for about 2 weeks. And after about 3 weeks I went from using my lotion every day to once a week. I've read online where it's suppose to help clear your skin of acne, warts but I haven't noticed any difference there. My pimples are more from food allergies though. Over all though my skin on my arms and body feels softer and smoother.

ENERGY: I really didn't notice anything until about 2 weeks in when there was a strange day where I went for a walk up a steep hill and I felt like I had more energy when I got to the top and wasn't winded like I have been every time before I walked up that hill. I was like "what the hell? why all the energy?" So I started running and then sprinted up another steep hill. I was so happy because I haven't felt that good since I was 23 years old. Something was different. I wake up earlier and overall just feel more awake throughout the day.

DETOX: My friend that gave me the ziplock bag of a couple cups of DE told me to try it because I wanted to detox and drink/eat better. The research I've found says it's great for detoxing everything from mercury, silver iodide, aluminum, fluoride, parasites and scrubbing the mucus from the intestines and colon. Whatever it does it seems to be helping. I've spread the word to co-workers, friends, family and everyone's giving it a try. If you are low in silica you'll notice a change. Seems to help older people more. A girl friend of mine who 22 didn't notice any change at all after 3 weeks. Then a 50 something yr old coworker noticed crazy good energy like he hasn't had in years. Either way, it seems to be a great colon cleaner for pennies no matter what your age.

LOVELY BM'S: Also from day one on the dirt I've noticed about a little extra BM most days. I call the second BM of the day my "diatomaceous poo." I used to go just once a day but now there about 1.5 the amount as before. Depends on how much you eat and what you eat.

HEADACHE: Another observation for myself, it seems to help with headaches. I would usually get caffeine or hangover headaches but DE is helping somehow.

FACE MASK: Also add a tiny bit of warm water with a 1/2 tblspn and rub it on your forehead and nose and let dry for 5 minutes and wash off. It will look like chocolate milk and will dry into a white powder again on your face. Keep away from eyes I'm guessing but just rinse off and it leaves your skin smooth and non-oily. I do this a few times a week and love it.

PEST CONTROL: I sprinkle and sweep around the baseboards. Seems to be helping with silverfish and random bug control in the house.

DOSE RECOMMENDATION: I just mix a rounded tblspn with water first thing every day. Started with a level tblspn for first month. Some people, including myself feel a "healing crisis" of sorts at the beginning so I suggest starting a 1/2 tblspn for the first week or two then bump on to 1. Then after the first month bump up to a rounded tblspn. You can put it in milk, juice, yogurt or anything. My "healing crisis" was for about 3 days after about 1.5 weeks in where I felt like I was coming down with a cold or flu but then it just went away and I never actually got sick. Maybe a parasite die off? I guess this is common for people who have a lot of toxins in their body and who haven't detoxed in a long time or at all. There's nothing chemical about DE, it's a physical reaction of detoxing so just hang in there if you feel achy for a bit. It's just your body letting go of the "crap" so to speak.
